Sonos' Monkey Fixation

posted by Jason Tiller
So, yesterday we're on our mandatory bullet train excursion, off to our second concert, at Harmony Hall in Fukui. I'm listening to our sixth CD, "Constrasts," with my super-duper isolating headphones... I couldn't hear much. We were getting off and there was a buzz floating around the group: "Did you see the monkeys?" "Did you?" "Huh, huh?"

What? Monkeys? Where?

Turns out that Patti, one of our newbies, was convinced that she had seen a family of monkeys in one of the many drained rice paddies alongside the train tracks. "Did you see them?" Er, no. Missy also apparently "saw" them, but wasn't willing to back Patti up when asked afterwards. Now, though, she's recanted her denial and is also "convinced" that she saw them.

This is now Sonos' motivating force. "Look for the monkeys!" ::sigh:: Much of the trip back from Fukui to Fukushima has been taken up with "Ooh, we're out of the tunnel - keep your eyes open!" I'm sure we'll "see" them again someday, those "monkeys in the mist..."
